How do you define modesty?

The modern fashion industry is marketing more mature clothing to younger and younger audiences. According to a task force report by the American Psychological Association, this hyper-sexualization increases the risk of eating disorders, depression and body image issues in girls. Additionally, The Medical Institute for Sexual Health has determined that girls (and boys) who “look older than they are” are at risk of an earlier sexual debut. It is clear that the thong underwear and padded push-up bras advertised to tweens are not helping them to understand their beauty and value. True Girl encourages girls to dress in ways that are age-appropriate in an effort to protect their hearts and prepare them for the pressures of their teen years. Modesty is not about covering up our bodies, but revealing our dignity. We believe that it’s entirely possible to be both modest and super stylish at the same time!
