Internship Opportunities with True Girl!

Here’s the thing.

There's not one job title to describe an Intern at True Girl.

They are event speakers, content writers, social media specialists, web designers, road managers, marketing brainstormers, and administrative professionals. They facilitate an audience of thousands at our True Girl or Born to Be Brave live events, ideate and create the latest social media campaigns, coordinate photo shoots for book promotions, devise new strategies for reaching at-risk girls in underprivileged communities, and pray with team members as they grow in humility and service.

No matter your role, one thing is ensured: you will be busy. Our team is small, but our organization is not. With less than 10 full-time staff members managing two national tours, new book development, marketing efforts, resource sales, livestreams, and more... we're busy. And we need help to keep this ministry machine running. That's why paid interns are an integral part of our ministry, and why they carry such an important load of responsibility within the organization. All that said, we think it might be THE best year you’ll ever have working hard, developing a wide array of skills, and experiencing a unique community and mentoring atmosphere

What do you get out of it? A year spent crossing off major bucket list items by traveling to almost every state (and we're not amateurs... of course we make stops at all the important major cities and landmarks), experiencing the inner operations and heart of a major non-profit, and developing personally. We're a community that takes working on our hearts as seriously as we take working on our tour. We provide a safe environment to examine your faith and grow closer to the Lord with a team who cares about you. Our relational mentoring program focuses on helping to develop you and prepare you for wherever you may end up down the road.

We do prayer summits each year that lead you in the work on your own heart. Daily devos on event days prepare you and teach you that your primary work is PRAYER (not teaching or managing or stage set up).

If you’re interested, here’s what you need to know:

  • We prefer interns who are college juniors or seniors who can use the year for credit at their university, or recent graduates looking for a great transition experience.
  • Internships are typically available August-May with some time off mid-way to go home and rest. (But we do have a summer spot below.)
  • All of our interns will be provided with accommodations, daily  per diem and are paid.
  • Our ministry headquarters are located in State College, PA, but most interns live on our tour bus routing through the United States and Canada (Do you have a passport?).

Testimonials

I have learned so much as a part of this team. In the professional setting, I learned discipline, personal interaction, how to ask good questions, great customer service skills, and more! Personally, I've learned so many important life skills, especially living with 8 other people on a bus. There are some great connections and friendships that I've made that will definitely last the rest of my life. On days off, you get to explore the country with friends. Some of my favorite places we've visited are the Grand Canyon, the Redwoods, Seattle, San Fransico, and even Vancouver!

As we tour, we have the opportunity to work side by side with some of the biggest Christian radio stations and churches in the country. It's so exciting to work with new people every day to bring this message to moms and tweens. This is an amazing opportunity because it's flexible, you can learn and grow in whatever areas you're interested and gifted so that you can grow in your strengths and learn from your weaknesses, and have a ton of fun doing it!" -Ellie Seibel

"This experience has created a servant's heart in me. It has really helped me to get to know people better and to develop my relationship and public speaking skills. I kind of thought that I would be sitting in an office all day, but it's been so much more than that! I've been able to minister to girls one-on-one, I've gotten to travel so many different places, and meet the needs of people at events. My favorite part of being a cast member is getting to watch girls dancing and worshipping and talking with their moms. It's really special to see that every night.

Living on the bus is so much fun, it's like a sleepover with your friends every night! You grow a lot, and you learn to love sincerely and treat others as Jesus would. It helps build your character 100%. You form such a great community! Your team helps you with your struggles, you're never going through difficult things alone. I would really recommend this internship because it's a great way to get to minister, grow personally and professionally, travel, and make lifelong relationships!" -Lisa Yabra
