Secret Keeper Girl Christmas Gift Guide

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Or… Is it? I love Christmas just as much as the next mom, but sometimes I feel like Christmastime gives us another full-time job. The expectations for a perfect holiday are thrown at us, disguised as “fun” via cute Pinterest DIYs, class parties, Christmas cookies and more.  Add in Christmas gift shopping, and it’s enough to make a mom lose her mind! Here are a few tips and ideas to help you out this December.

We try not to go too overboard with gifts in our family, but I think it’s fun to get three types of gifts for under the tree. When I shop for my kids (even now that they’ve all left the nest!) I try to buy each of them something they want, something they need, and something to read. It’s a cute rhyme, but it’s also a practical guide to make shopping less of a hassle.

  1. Something they want can include any fun item they’ve been asking for all year, like that new dress or toy.
  2. Something they need usually includes some socks and underwear (which they will appreciate when they are older and realize how expensive those items can be).
  3. Something to read is always my favorite! I try and give them a book that has fed my soul and taught me something, whether recently or when I was their age.

I may not know the wants and needs of your kids, but I do have a few ideas when it comes to what to read! Plus, you can get 20% off your entire purchase at our online store through the month of December using the code “THANKS2018”.

For your tween (7-12) girl:

The One Year Mother-Daughter Devo: Looking for a devotional you and your little girl to do together? We have 365 of them in our newly released leather-bound edition of this great devo! Help your tween get in the habit of digging into God’s word by spending time each day learning what God has to say about faith, emotions, self-esteem, and more!

The Secret Keeper Girl Fiction Bundle: Is your tween a reader? Give her the gift of four great fiction books that are packed with purpose. In these books, your tween will have fun laughing and learning as she identifies with four different girls going through the tough stuff of the tween years. Covering topics like acceptance, boy-craziness, and friendship, your girl will love learning lessons with Danika, Kate, Toni, and Yuzi! (p.s. we’re currently offering a BIG deal on these books. Get all 4 for only $15!)

For Girls Like You Magazine: This magazine subscription makes such a fun gift! Your girl will look forward to getting each issue in the mail. They will help you grow, teach, entertain and inspire your daughter to be GOD’S GIRL first! With fun activities, interactive pages, features on God’s Girls around the world and right next door, articles about people they know and love, and more! Plus, if your girl is creative, she’ll love the free coloring book with your subscription!

For your tween (7-12) boy:

It’s Great to Be a Guy: If your boy is headed into puberty, this book is for him. It’s Great to Be a Guy contains everything a preteen guy needs to know about his changing body and feelings, and it’s all written from the Bible’s point of view.

For your teen (13-18) boy:

Who Moved the Goalpost?: My husband, Bob, wrote this book to encourage your teen to pursue a life of purity in a culture that’s pressuring him to be anything but pure. Written in a casual, humorous style, Bob exposes Satan’s three sex lies, shares God’s three powerful truths, outlines seven winning strategies to live by each day and lays down a game plan for a healthy, pure relationship.

For your teen (13-18) girl:

Get Lost: Is your teen struggling with boy-craziness, or even wrestling with a healthy desire for a future relationship? This book will help her see for herself how getting lost in God opens the door to lifelong fulfillment.

Lies Young Women Believe:  This book dives deep into the top 25 lies young women (13-18) believe, and gives God’s Truth to help them battle those lies. Covering topics like relationships, faith, sin, and more, this book will help equip your teen to fight lies with the Truth.

I hope these ideas help you wrap up (pun intended) your Christmas shopping! What better gift can we give to our kids than reading material that will help them grow closer to Christ?

Merry Christmas!
