Do you want your daughter to love God's Word and build the habit of daily devos? We do, too! Here at True Girl, our goal is to help you and your tween grow closer to each other and closer to Jesus.

This month, Staci is encouraging tweens to develop the habit of studying God’s Word. It’s the most important habit she’ll ever practice. More than brushing her teeth, more than making her bed, more than finishing her homework or practicing her piano...the habit of reading the Bible has the power to impact your daughter’s life like none other!

Why are habits important? Habits have the potential to build us up or even tear us down. Take biting your nails. It’s a habit that many tweens have formed. At first, it doesn’t seem too harmful! But over time, biting your nails can lead to grinding your teeth at night, which could potentially lead to your teeth falling out! One bad habit can lead us to something we never intended.

Habits can be positive, too! If you have the habit of running every day, your body will stay healthy, and your brain will, too! Running has been proven to help you sleep better, improve your mood and stay concentrated during the day!

Habits don’t tend to be kept in a bubble. They affect and change the direction of your life. Studying God’s Word is no exception. In fact, studying God’s Word has even more potential to influence our everyday life because it is alive! Hebrews 4:12 says,

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Isn't that what we want for our children? A habit that has the ability to change their lives forever?
