“Holy Girl what??”
That was my initial reaction when my dear friend, Dannah Gresh, mentioned the Holy Girl Walk back in 2022. She went on to explain the Hot Girl Walk trend that was occurring on social media at the time and how it wasn’t at all founded in actual life-changing Truth. Actually, if you want to hear more about that, you can watch Dannah teach on it from the main stage at True Woman ‘22.
Now, I’ve walked with Dannah through a lot of highs and lows over our two decades of friendship. And when she experienced the revelation surrounding the Holy Girl Walk, let me tell you, she was ON FIRE with joy and freedom and hope!
The short story is Dannah was battling anxiety and decided she was going to meditate on Psalm 91 while she walked as a tool to keep the overwhelming anxious thoughts at bay. Well, lo and behold, as Dannah walked and meditated, she ended up memorizing the whole chapter!
As it turns out there’s a scientific reason for that. Dannah’s big into research, data, and proof and as she dove into that topic, she found that walking helps engage your mind to memorize scripture.
So for girls like me (and maybe you) who have had a hard time memorizing scripture, the Holy Girl Walk sounds pretty powerful. For the month of June, Dannah’s going to be doing the Holy Girl Walk and we’re all invited! Just make sure you’re following her on social media and join the scripture memory fun!
