Has there ever been a time in your life when faithfulness totally paid off (or maybe your lack of faithfulness materialized)?
Maybe you decided to start a garden. You wanted to have homegrown tomatoes on your sandwiches, but you realize it may take two months for that tomato seed to become the perfect sandwich topping. You commit anyway, and when you got to taste that delicious tomato-filled sandwich, it was well worth the soiling, watering and waiting.
When we are loyal to an outcome, our hard work will bear fruit. Unfortunately, it works both ways. It’s not just when we are loyal to good practices...loyalty to bad practices has the same effect.
Your daughter is in the beginning stages of forming habits, and planting Truth (or lies) in her heart, and everything she is taking in affects the Truth she believes. She’s watching TV shows, her friends, other adults...but most importantly she’s watching Y-O-U!
That’s why it’s so important you begin to show her what a loyal woman looks like! Your example of faithfulness to seeking God and being a loyal friend is the greatest testament to her!
Proverbs 3:3 says,
“Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.”
Right now, it may seem like the small actions you do around her matter don’t matter, but she is watching closely. She will remember who you were and how you acted, and that will reflect in her own life!
