By Janet Mylin, True Girl Lead Teacher
Lots of people are vying for your daughter’s attention.
So many voices calling out to her:
“Buy this!”
“Listen to this!”
“Eat this!”
“Do this!”
“Write this!”
Something that really encourages me is this:
Above all the other voices, one stronger voice is calling out for my girls.
Her name is Wisdom.
Proverbs 1:20-23 gives such a cool description of Wisdom:
Wisdom shouts in the streets.
She cries out in the public square.
She calls to the crowds along the main street,
to those gathered in front of the city gate:
“How long, you simpletons,
will you insist on being simpleminded?
How long will you mockers relish your mocking?
How long will you fools hate knowledge?
Come and listen to my counsel.
I’ll share my heart with you
and make you wise.”
Wisdom is calling out to you, to me, and to our girls! And, as moms, we pray and pray that our girls will lean into THAT voice in the midst of all the other noise.
One way our girls can hear the voice of wisdom is through the testimonies of women who have gone before them. Testimonies from you, the women in your church, aunts, grandmas, big sisters, and of course, the Bible - they all help your daughter absorb wisdom.
And let’s not forget about the testimonies of women who are Heroes of the Faith from more recent history.

Like I said, the episodes are short so you can listen to them while you’re driving to school or the store. It would also be a fun thing to do as part of your bedtime routine or morning routine with your daughter. And, if you’re like me and routine isn’t really your thing, just turn it on the next time your daughter is looking for something to do.
Lord God, we are grateful that Wisdom calls out to us and our daughters. May our girls turn their ears towards Truth and make decisions based on that instead of the world’s lies. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
